Anybody wondering/worrying about my eyes??
Well, I just needed to go to the eye doctor...
For many years I've been struggling with trying
to read... with a contact lens in, my right eye (the
one that had the corneal transplant in '85) did
pretty well -- as long as I had some "granny
glasses" from Wal*Mart ($12 bucks).. the left eye
(with a contact lens in) was useless for reading
anything, so most of the time I just wore a lens in
my right eye... then if I REALLY needed to read
something, I could get it up REAL close to my left
eye (2" away) and read it (as long as I didn't have
a lens in my left eye... OK... I went to the eye
doctor several months ago (in preparation of this
trip) and got a new perscription... made a new woman
out of me... I can now read without the aid of the
granny glasses... with both eyes -- WITH contact
lens in both eyes... I'm a happy camper...

Talked to my sister who lives in Denver a little
while ago... she's a flight attendant for United and
is heading out on a trip and won't be back until
Friday evening... so as to coordinate with her
schedule, I'll wait another day to depart... go to
Butte Wednesday nite, Casper Thursday nite, arrive
in Denver Friday night... then stay over Saturday
and watch the Notre Dame game with her Saturday...

I'll finish packing the car tomorrow... and maybe
I'll do the dishes...

Somebody asked if I'd ever driven this far before.
The answer is yes, I have... I drove from New
Orleans to Portland when my daughter was about 7
years old...

Turned in my TEMPORARY change of address to the Post
Office today... they'll forward my mail...

Checked the spare again and it was flat so stopped
by Les Schwabb and they fixed it (no charge)...

Had breakfast with my friend (Red Miata Chick) and
then took a picture of her holding Pepper.

The first line of my high school (Columbia High school)
alma mater is:
"Oh, we love our fair Columbia.."
I think of that whenever I see the Columbia River
and couldn't resist taking this picture of it on my
way home today...
