Oma's Trip ~ 11/24/02 Dateline: Salina, KS (Central time zone) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4:30pm (Central Time) Here's a good one: The phone company hasn't yet programmed the phones in the Motel 6 rooms (in Salina, KS) to use the brand new phone exchange(s)... and, of course, Earthlink's local access number is one of those new exchanges... so, I'm activating the 800 service... and... on to today's report... Denver got about 2" of snow last night, so I hadda brush snow off before I could leave... traveled most of the day under overcast skies but the snow was mostly gone about 70 miles east of Denver and 85 miles east of Denver there was no snow at all, but skies were still overcast... The sun did finally show itself and the rest of the day was uneventful... Speed limit in MT, WY, and CO was 75mpg, but that dropped to 70mpg in KS... so I hadda keep it down to 75mpg!!! I've been going a maximum of 6 or 7 over for YEARS... and already know what I'd to say to any cop who decides I must have a ticket for anything less than 10 over, but I've never had to use that, so... ...and GEEZ, Kansas is flat... North Dakota has nothing on Kansas when it comes to flat... WHY lower the speed limit when you're driving on flat roads??? Weird... Pepper seems to be feeling fine after her little trouble yesterday. Finally got online 11/25/02 in Ardmore, OK... just now... so I'm posting yesterday's now... and I'll do today's in a bit...
